TIPS
from the pro:
Join a Group and Have Fun It's a beautiful day. You want to
hit the course but no one is available to play. What do you
do? Go solo and join another group. What? Too Intimidating?
You wouldn't have the nerve? Think again. The nature of golf
is reflected in its history and spirit. It is a social sport.
Although you may feel shy about joining strangers, it is not
only perfectly acceptable but expected in most cases. Just remember:
- The
group you join may play at the same level, or worse, thank
you.
- Play
quickly. If you find yourself lagging behind, pick up the
ball and walk along with the others for the rest of a hole.
The idea is to get better by playing more. Worry about the
score when your game has improved.
- Enjoy
the company. Talk about the course and share your thoughts
and fears as a beginner. Most golfers can relate and you may
gain a friend and partner for future rounds.
